MOAB, UTAH, for Canyonland Special Tours by Bonnie and Bill Neely

Canyonlands By Night Boat tours is an experience not to be missed when you are in Moab, Utah. The headquarters for all kinds of fun in Moab, the company is located in an old Spanish mission type building beside Riverside Oasis Campground on Highway 191 North on the extension of Main Street just before the entrance to Arches National Park.
Make your reservations for Canyonland By Night Tour at least one day ahead.( Call 435-259-5261 or click here ) It is so popular it fills quickly. Your ticket includes a delicious Cowboy Style Dutch Oven Dinner, with a variety of meats and barbeques slow- cooked outside and ready when you arrive about 7 PM. After dinner you board a jet boat licensed for 112 people, but they refuse to overcrowd you. Your cruise up the Colorado River begins about dusk, and your guide has an interesting commentary of history and discovery as you pass between the huge Entrada sandstone boulders that compose the canyons through which the Colorado River travels naturally before it is first dammed downstream at Lake Powell. The scenery is awesome and inspiring and at the same time is a curiosity of imaginative fun, which your guide will stimulate.

As the darkness falls and the hush in the canyon is experienced, your light and sound presentation begins. Don’t expect a high-tech laser or colored light extravaganza. This is a simple but beautiful illumination of the giant boulders while the area’s history and legend is told, stimulating your imagination of what secrets the great mountains majestically hold.
Enjoy music as you simply look at the brilliant stars against the black sky, seeing more stars in that window between the mountain cliffs than in your entire life. This is a romantic and memorable experience. Even summer evenings in Utah are cool, so take a jacket. Enjoy this experience, and take away wonderful memories.

Canyonlands By Night and by day as a company offers far more than the above tour. This year they celebrate 40 years in business and have expanded to include day tours on the river and by ATV and 4X 4’s on land, canoes, into La Sal Mountains, through canyons, horseback tours, and many other activities, for your total experience of the wonderful desert and river areas around Moab.
