Camping Near Arches and Canyonlands National Parks by Bonnie and Bill Neely

When visiting Utah, the state with the greatest number of National Parks and preserved sites, Moab is a MUST because that is the location of two of the most well known and wondrous sites in the Unites States: Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. Although the camping sites within these two National Parks are few and with almost no facilities, there are many RV parks within a few miles of Moab from which to choose.

After surveying all of these, we elected to stay at the beautiful Moab Valley RV Resort, almost the closest one to the two National Parks and very conveniently located for any facilites, restaurants, stores, etc in the town. Moab Valley RV Resort is TRULY a RESORT for any kind of camping experience.

The setting is beautiful, with the backdrop of high red cliffs, outlined in evening by the setting sun and brillianty colored at sunrise. The park is well maintained with secure entrance and fence. Mature trees and lovely green grass grace most of the 62 RV and 26 cabin sites. And the 39 tent sites, also pristinely kept, have a unique feature we have never seen before: Each site is covered by a permanent protective and colorful tent cover. The resort is open from late February (or early March depending on the weather) through October.

Although this is a large RV Resort and luxurious camping place, the facilities are well-planned and quite adequate for the number of families it can accommodate and every inch of it is beautifully clean and inviting 24/7. The resort owners and managers are experienced, thoughtful, and friendly, and the convenient store has many necessities thoughtfully provided. The swimming pool and heated spa are so inviting any time of day or evening.

Just a short drive to Arches National Park Entrance and about 25 miles to Canyonlands National Park, Moab Valley RV Park is just a short hike to the Colorado River and to the top of the red cliff lookouts, and even to town. We are so happy we chose this excellent RV Resort and will definitely return! Make reservations here http://www.MoabValleyRV.com or call 1 435 259 4469 or FAX 1 435 259 4483 . The peak seasons are spring and fall, but we also spent time in summer and because it is a high desert the days have dry heat and very cool nights, so it is still very pleasant time for families to visit the wonders surrounding Moab Valley RV Resort.
