Real Travel Adventures magazine publishes only original articles written by, and photos taken by real travelers on their journeys.
We accept articles from 300 to 1200 words with no more than 6 photos for each story between 75 and 500 KB. Larger sizes cannot be accommodated. To submit a query, please fill out a contact form on our Contact Us page.
If you are our regular contributor you don’t have to send a query, and you already know where to send your story and photos.
When sending your story and photos, please remember that you remain the copyright owner of your material, and you are responsible for all copyright issues associated with it. We do not accept commercial, promotional, or stock photography, and we never accept images lifted from other personal or social media sites. We can accept photos taken by your travel companions if you legally possess these photos. If someone else takes photos for you on your trip, it is your responsibility to give them a photo credit or have their agreement to go without.
To send a story for publication at RTA:
Start with a title and byline. Don not use multiple titles or all caps.

By Anne Traveler (No photo credit means that your travel companion gave you full rights to use his/her photos).
Clearly mark places for photos between paragraphs. Use ALL CAPS, not Bold, which is not always transferrable from one browser to another.

Numbers and titles of the photos in the text of your story should exactly coincide with those under your actual photos.
Don not indent the beginning of the paragraph.
Send your story and all photos as attachments in one single email.
